Chief Data Officer
Paul joined Magnetic as Chief Data Officer in July 2016. Paul is a data intelligence visionary who is responsible for overseeing data and analytics operations to better serve Magnetic’s clients and their customers. Paul will lead the direction of the Consumer Insights and Analytics (CIA) and Data Science teams.
Prior to Magnetic, Paul founded, led, and later sold Causata to Nice Systems Ltd. in August 2013. Causata enabled companies to create meaningful customer experiences through data and was the first company to use reinforcement learning, an area of machine learning, to deliver greater customer experience.
In 2000, Paul co-founded Touch Clarity, a best-in-class enterprise company that developed an online content targeting platform. In 2007, Touch Clarity was sold to Omniture, where Paul then served as VP of Testing and Targeting.
Paul is frequently called upon to speak at marketing conferences about Big Data analytics. He also wrote and filed the first commercial patent that cited a formal process for managing the exploration and exploitation trade-off in machine learning applications.
Paul serves on the Advisory Board of the Computer Science Department at University College London and lives in San Francisco.
