Engineers from across our offices recently particpated in a Hackathon, and emerged with innovative concepts and projects. What’s a hackathon you ask? It’s a 48 hour period of intense programming in which teams of two or more work together on self-organized software projects to tackle a problem – in any domain of their choosing. They competed against other teams from which three winners were chosen – including a bot that lets employees know if the toilet is occupied or available (finally!).
Check out some pictures below from the presentation, and the Hackathon!
Ryan presenting his team’s enhanced real-time fraud detection solution.
Vanessa presenting her teams project, BookFace – an employee directory that allows anyone in the company to look up employees based on their department, role, and office.
The Toilert team installing their project into the men’s bathroom – a bot that alerts employees when requested if the bathroom stalls are being used or if they are free. This project was one of the three winners!
