At Magnetic, we believe strongly in the adage "charity begins at home." Most non-profit organizations gain great rewards by having a professionally designed web site that offers clear information about their mission, donation procedures, and volunteer opportunities. Many times our time and professional services make the best donation.
As a family-oriented workplace, Magnetic tends to focus on charities and organizations that help children in need. We also encourage our employees to become active by offering time during work hours to contribute to a local charity or organization of their choice.
How We've Already Helped
- Ken Bakunas, CEO of Magnetic, recently formed First Book-Tampa Bay, where he serves as the Chair for the Advisory Board. This national nonprofit organization has the single goal of giving children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own their first new books. First Book-Tampa Bay plans to deliver 10,000 new books in 2007 by working with a variety of educational institutions and other non-profit organizations to reach the area's children most in need. The board currently consists of volunteers from Magnetic's team, business partners, clients and viable community members. - Jennifer Bakunas, President of Magnetic, joined the Board of Directors of the New Tampa Family YMCA in 2005. Magnetic sponsored the New Tampa YMCA's inaugural fundraising event and participated on the planning committee to help secure more than $30,000 in donated auction items and raise over $60,000 in sponsorship money. The money raised went toward funding scholarships for the "We Build People" campaign, part of the YMCA's continuing mission to accept all children regardless of their financial circumstances.
- Magnetic developed a complete web site for Hillsborough Kids, Inc., a non-profit agency that acts as the Lead Agency in the Community Based Care project in Hillsborough County. Since 2004, Magnetic has provided free of charge to Hillsborough Kids web site development, continuous updates, and web hosting.
- Magnetic developed a complete web site for the International Children's Ergonomics Foundation (ICEF), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting ergonomics education for school-age children, young adults, parents and educators. Since 2002, Magnetic has provided free of charge to ICEF domain names, web site development, and web hosting.
- Magnetic also supports The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Metropolitan Ministries, Ironman Community Fund, USF Athletic Association, and Business and Professional Woman's Foundation.
Magnetic's general policy is to offer an automatic 10% discount on all our services to non-profit organizations.
Community Outreach
The Magnetic Management Team is available to speak to community groups and organizations on Internet related topics like Search Engine Optimization. We firmly believe in the value of providing honest and helpful information about our industry to the community as a whole, not just our clients.
