The night will begin with pre-panel cocktails, appetizers and free-flowing conversations with industry peers and attribution experts.

The panel discussion will explore a variety of concepts and benefits of using some of the most common types of attribution models. In addition, experts will share insight as to how measurement varies across branding and direct response campaigns, background on viewable ad impressions and ways to make attribution actionable. The night will end with a networking cocktail hour.

NEW YORK – August 9, 2012 – Magnetic (www.magnetic.com), the leader in search retargeting, announced today the appointment of Hugh McGoran as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). As CRO, McGoran will focus his efforts on forging strategic agency and client direct partnerships, as well as establishing a global footprint for the company in the coming year.

“The addition of Hugh McGoran is a testament to Magnetic’s explosive growth and aggressive goals for 2013,” said James Green, CEO of Magnetic. “Hugh’s background spans across media, data and research – all at the highest level. This is the perfect skillset for Magnetic as we remain hyper-focused on combining search intent data with media to provide successful ad campaigns for our clients.”

McGoran holds almost twenty years of advertising, sales and business experience, and has been heavily focused on the digital sector since the mid-nineties. Prior to joining Magnetic, McGoran served as Senior Vice President of Agency Sales at comScore where he focused on business development for comScore’s media planning, measurement and analytics technologies.

McGoran moved to comScore from Turn, Inc. where he led the company’s sales team in the transition from an advertising network to a demand-side platform. Earlier in his career, McGoran worked for companies including Peer39, TACODA, Inc. (acquired by AOL in 2007), and Knight Ridder Digital.

“The evolution of data and media has created a tremendous market opportunity for Magnetic,” said McGoran. “I am excited to join an organization that is hyper-focused on retargeting and committed to building innovative technology for agency and brand partners. I look forward to increasing Magnetic’s momentum.”

Magnetic recently announced a Series B funding of $10 million in June and acquired ad technology platform, Adnamic in July.

Acquisition Propels Magnetic’s Analytics and Reporting Capabilities

New York, NY— July 27, 2012— Magnetic (www.magnetic.com), the leader in search retargeting, announced today that it has acquired Adnamic, a platform technology that increases Magnetic’s analytics and reporting capabilities. This acquisition will further enhance optimization for Magnetic’s search retargeting campaigns and will provide clients with detailed intelligence into their campaigns and target audiences.

Adnamic was founded by Joe Presbrey, an MIT graduate and entrepreneur who studied under Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web and MIT professor. Magnetic’s acquisition of Adnamic marks Presbrey’s second company exit – in 2006, Presbrey sold Sconex, a high-school networking site, for $6 million to Alloy Media and Marketing.

“The acquisition of Adnamic is 100% focused on technology,” says James Green, CEO of Magnetic. “Adnamic’s platform will build on Magnetic’s search retargeting solution by adding more sources of media in an organized fashion, enhancing optimization across campaigns and generating advanced reporting that will help us and our clients better understand the data.”

By combining Adnamic’s best-in-class platform with Magnetic’s proprietary data, Magnetic gains tremendous insight into previously hidden data points. Adnamic’s technology will enable Magnetic to expand its focus to multiple data points that are pertinent to a brand’s digital strategy and relevant to the consumer experience.

“There is a real synergy between data and the insights derived from a brand’s media spend,” says Joe Presbrey, Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Adnamic. “Adnamic’s capabilities are a great complement to Magnetic’s existing product and we’re excited to bring together two technologies with expertise in a variety of disciplines including analytics, reporting, data, and campaign optimization.”

As a part of this acquisition, Joe Presbrey will join Magnetic’s team as Senior Platform Engineer and will lead the technology integration. Presbrey is currently receiving his Masters of Engineering at MIT.

Investment in Search Retargeting Leader Will Further Accelerate Growth and Enhance Product Innovation

New York, NY— June 7, 2012— Magnetic (www.magnetic.com), the leader in search retargeting, today announced an investment of $10 million in Series B funding, led by private equity firm Edison Ventures. Other participating investors include IA Capital Partners, NYC Seed, NYC Investment Fund, Jonathan Kraft, Neu Venture Capital and Charles River Ventures.

Magnetic combines the power of search with the scale of display advertising, bridging the gap between search performance and targeted display media. Through search retargeting, Magnetic reaches consumers who have signaled purchase intent where they spend 96% of their time – on news sites, blogs, e-commerce sites and social networks.

Since taking the helm in October 2011, CEO James Green has employed an aggressive growth strategy, increasing the employee base from 23 to over 40 and opening sales offices in Detroit, Chicago and Los Angeles. With this new investment, Magnetic will have the means to further its mission to drive better display ad performance and expand search campaigns for marketers, while also further accelerating growth and supporting innovative product development.

“We are thrilled to have this financial backing as it is a testament to the growing category of search retargeting,” says Green. “Having previously worked with Edison Ventures, they are a great supporter and I am looking forward to the increased opportunities that it will afford us.”

Prior to joining Magnetic, Green worked with Edison when the company invested in Giant Realm, a vertical ad network in which Green was CEO before selling the company to Burst Media in October 2009.

“Magnetic offers more branding and marketing options with search retargeting than are possible with traditional SEM on the major search engines,” says Ryan Ziegler, Edison Ventures Principal. “We are confident in this investment and are looking forward to the future.”

Magnetic recently announced its outstanding momentum in 2012, exceeding a 500% year over year revenue growth.
