Meet the Magnetic team!

At Magnetic, our creative team of Internet professionals uses a wealth of experience, technical expertise, and imaginative talent to create web sites that help our clients reach their web potential.

From the very beginning of your project, the entire Magnetic team will collaborate on the design, creation, implementation, and support of your web site. Magnetic is led by a group of talented and dedicated professionals who are regularly acknowledged for their contributions to the field of Web Development.



Jennifer Bakunas - President

At Magnetic, Jennifer is responsible for overseeing all key operations of the company and directing Magnetic’s management team. She is also responsible for helping to create Magnetic’s unique corporate culture, resulting in 4 consecutive years of being awarded the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Best Places to Work recognition.

Jennifer’s background and career experience has given her a solid understanding of the unique challenges that each company faces in communicating with customers. Jennifer began her career with both
Walt Disney World and IBM as a web designer responsible for content, design, programming and maintenance of the corporate web sites. She also worked for Kobie Marketing, where she initiated and designed the process for partnering web site development with the overall marketing message. Web sites were developed for companies of all sizes, including CBS SportsLine, Barnes & Noble, and Cellular One.

Jennifer has received the Tampa Bay Business Journal's Young BusinessWoman of the Year Award for her outstanding contributions to both her company and the community. Jennifer is the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Tampa YMCA, directing and contributing to fundraising efforts of more than $150,000 annually. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Tampa Bay CEO Council.

Jennifer’s B.A. in Technical Writing from the University of Central Florida, combined with her career experience in web site programming and development, gives her a rare combination of technical, creative and tactical skills.

Ken Bakunas - CEO

Ken founded Magnetic in 1997 after identifying the need to help businesses leverage their Internet presence more effectively through better design, e-commerce, and search engine optimization. At Magnetic, Ken is responsible for overseeing the company’s technical operations and ensuring constant technical innovation and improvement for Magnetic’s customers. He is also responsible for helping to create Magnetic’s unique corporate culture, resulting in 3 consecutive years of being awarded the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Best Places to Work recognition.

Prior to Magnetic, Ken worked as lead Web Architect and a technical consultant for clients including IBM, AT&T, and Verizon. At IBM, he was the Webmaster and principal technical architect in the creation of IBM.net. Ken also developed web sites and web database solutions for many high-profile clients, including AT&T and PriceAutoOutlet.com / CarFinance.com (in 1996 when no one even thought about buying a car on the Internet!). He used his experiences in web marketing, partnerships, and site creation to develop many popular sites during the initial Internet boom, such as Baseball.com and Humor.com. Ken has more than 20 years of professional development experience with computer systems, programming languages, and database design across a variety of platforms.

Ken was the 2007 Tampa Bay CEO of the Year award recipient. In 2007, Ken also founded the Tampa Bay Chapter of First Book, a national organization that provides new books to children in need to promote childhood literacy. He currently oversees the First Book Board of Directors and local fundraising efforts. Ken is also the co-chair of the Tampa Chamber Small Business Enterprise Committee.

Ken received a B.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of South Florida.


John Galarneau - Chief Operating Officer

As Magnetic's COO, John is responsible for leading the development, operation and improvement of the systems that deliver Magnetic’s products and services. John ensures that Magnetic’s business operations are efficient and effective and focuses on proper management of resources. He is involved in the recruitment, coaching and performance of our employees.

John collaborates with the CEO and President on Magnetic’s budgeting, structure, current operations, and the execution of the company's
strategic plans. He is responsible for delivery of results and is involved in the day-to-day business operations that include production, delivery and business development. John ensures that optimal operating procedures are implemented throughout the company, implements the business plan with the best results possible, and pursues all opportunities to maximize the company's results.

John brings to Magnetic a vast range of senior management experience and a strong knowledge of Internet technology. He has been in the web development industry for over 15 years. His roles have ranged from Interactive Designer, Production Manager, Design Director, Creative Director, and Vice President of Client Services. John has successfully managed and handled the production cycle and design process for many large-scale projects, including Fortune 500 clients.


Deana Goldasich - Director of Account Management

Deana Goldasich's marketing and web development career includes experience building online solutions and strategies for multi-million dollar internet retailers, high-profile brands and influential government and health agencies.

Deana most recently served as Director of Content and Production for HSN.com, the e-commerce arm of the Home Shopping Network. During her four years at HSN.com, she led the company's aggressive marketing and content strategies for merchandising campaigns,
celebrity events, storefront and brand launches, video on demand, and interactive shopping guides. While at HSN, Deana also launched and directed HSN.com's daily site optimization strategies-aimed at testing and responding to customer behavior at every level. Using ongoing analysis, her team continually redesigned and retested the site's home page, storefronts, departments, brand shops and transactional pages.

Prior to HSN, Deana was a consultant with Sapient Corporation, specializing in User Experience (UE) and Content Strategy. She began her marketing career as a Promotion Producer for several ABC TV news affiliates. She then served as the Sr. Copywriter/Producer at Devine Communications, a full-service advertising agency.

Deana has received many accolades for her talents and professional contributions and is active in trade organizations such as Shop.org and Internet Retailer Conferences. A native of Colorado, Deana received a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising at the University of Colorado in Boulder.


Sabrina Herring - Director of Administration

During a career immersed in technology industries, Sabrina Herring has acquired diverse functional expertise in both service and product-based businesses. As Director of Administration for Magnetic, Sabrina is responsible for overseeing the financial, human resources, and back-office infrastructure and operations of the company. Her role includes collaboration with the senior management team in strategic business planning and implementation.

Sabrina most recently provided business consulting to a suite of clients ranging from sole proprietorships to multiple-entity structured service and inventory-based organizations. Her consulting services included accounting, financial analysis, operational and organizational development.

Prior to providing business consulting, Sabrina served as Director of Operations, and later Vice President, of a telephone manufacturing and distribution company. Sabrina was responsible for oversight of the off-shore manufacturing process, North American distribution, sales and internal operations for the company.

Sabrina's career began in the technology training industry shortly after its emergence as a recognized business necessity through the industry's most profitable years. During her time in the technology training industry Sabrina gained experience in sales, project management, and training and worked with clients such as Publix, Franklin Templeton, Raymond James and TECO.

With a diverse background spanning most functional business areas, Sabrina brings a unique knowledge base as well as dedication to maximizing organizational efficiency and empowering others to succeed.


Pat Kaeowichien - Director of Technology

Pat began his career as a quality assurance engineer with Sykes Enterprises, Incorporated, responsible for testing applications and for the setup and configuration of QA systems. He later moved into software engineering developing the very software he tested. As software engineer, Pat was responsible for the design and development of system services and database solutions for Sykes' AnswerTeam and Toshiba's VirtualTech software. He has also worked with smaller organizations developing business and e-commerce applications from the ground up. These applications ranged from simple
web-based surveys to advanced Web 2.0 applications.

Pat has also had his hand in systems administration, network engineering, and desktop support. While working at a national housing company, Pat managed a 300 user computer network ensuring them trouble-free service. His responsibilities included hardware installation, configuration, network diagnostics, and technical support.

As Director of Technology, Pat leads the development, implementation, and effective use of technology at Magnetic. Overseeing the product development and IT services team, Pat ensures our clients receive best in class web site products, services, and support.

Pat is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, a Certified Database Administrator, and a Certified Professional Developer. Pat also holds a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Florida.


Heather Andrews – Marketing Manager

Heather serves as Magnetic’s Marketing Manager and is responsible for all marketing operations within the organization. This role includes internal marketing and public relations as well as helping clients achieve success through marketing their web sites online.

Heather has several years of experience working with web based businesses to reach new markets and increase revenue. Her expertise includes Search Engine Optimization, Pay Per Click Advertising, Web Site Analytics, E-mail Marketing, Affiliate Programs and Web site
Usability and Content. Heather has worked successfully in both B-to-B and B-to-C environments.

Heather works closely with our web design and web development teams to ensure web sites are optimized for search engines and usability. Heather also provides ongoing support for clients who are actively building new traffic to their web site and improving their web site conversions.

Prior to working with Magnetic, Heather developed her skills in a start-up t-shirt company that quickly grew to enormous success. Continuous learning and testing has helped Heather obtain a high level understanding of internet marketing and search engine optimization.

Heather holds the Google AdWords Qualified Individual status and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Marketing Information Systems.
