The United States Patent and Trademark Office issued U.S. Patent No. 8,990,105 for Systems, Methods, and Media for Targeting Advertisements based on User Search Information. This patent covers Magnetic’s programmatic solution for retargeting based on keywords, enabling advertisers to reach audiences with digital display advertising based on search intent.
According to eMarketer, the rise of real time buying (RTB) has been a key driver in the dramatic growth of programmatic advertising, which is expected to be a $20 billion dollar industry in 2016, representing nearly 65% of U.S. digital display ad spending. A large number of advertisers rely on site-level data for real-time retargeting because it helps them reach audiences that have shown intent through site visitation.
