Magnetic Design, Development Expertise Showcased on SouthernTravelNews.com™

Robust content management functions help national online travel newspaper published by Corporate Write LLC keep readers up to date on latest in southern U.S. travel news.

TAMPA, Fla. - (March 20, 2007) - Magnetic, a full-service Web development firm celebrating its 10th anniversary, has designed and developed SouthernTravelNews.com™, a national online travel newspaper owned by Corporate Write LLC of Riverview, Fla. The new site is designed to keep consumers informed about travel within the southern U.S. as well as cruising from southern U.S. ports.

"My vision was to have a crisp, clean and attractive online travel newspaper with fully manageable content and image features," said Susan J. Young, Editor in Chief, SouthernTravelNews.com™ and a nationally recognized travel journalist. "The team at Magnetic listened to my needs and designed a Web site that allowed me to achieve those goals. I knew exactly what features and capabilities were required to run my business the way I wanted, and Magnetic delivered well above my expectations."

SouthernTravelNews.com™ is not an ordinary, run-of-the-mill Web site. In addition to Young's articles, the site includes professional content from more than 45 professional travel writers, many of them members of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW). Content is reviewed by three professional copy editors. However, site management, story line-up and article/photo/banner uploads are handled solely by Young and require a flexible and full-bodied content management system.

Magnetic designed the site with a Front Page that includes such time-sensitive features as News Flash (headline news that changes hourly); Blog 'Round the South (an editor's travel blog that changes each weekday); and major travel news and feature areas (Top Story and Southern Travel Features).

Core site content is located within 13 dedicated state pages, each boasting multiple "jump" stories as well as Southern Shorts (news briefs for each state). In addition, the site features 26 themed Travel Sections including Americana & Nostalgia, Food & Wine, Spa Vacations, Outdoor Adventure and much more.

Other site features include free downloadable photos, a book/multi-media review page, executive interviews, profiles of destinations and cruise programs, a Photos of the Week slide show, links to planning resources and information on hot deals and packages.

The site is also set up to accept reader feedback. Advertising will be handled via fully managed, rotating banner ads. High-definition video and a shopping cart will be added later this year.

"SouthernTravelNews.com™ needed a Web site that could be easily managed by a single individual," said Jennifer Bakunas, President of Magnetic. "We delivered a customized site with the capabilities and functions that aligned with that goal."

Magnetic will be launching SouthernTravelNews.com's™ sister site, SouthernCrusing.com™, in the near future.
