I admit, it’s not a fun game. It’s hard to imagine life without streaming, texting, and/or social networking. Even more shocking is that the advancements above have only happened over the past decade or so. Facebook enabled public access in 2006, and 2007 brought the texting boom (thanks to the iPhone) and Netflix streaming.
So much has changed in so little time, which is pretty incredible considering the fact that people hate change – it’s simply in our DNA. Change is filled with uncertainty – and that’s unsettling for us. But, humans are also highly resilient and adaptive. Despite our innate aversion to the new and unknown, we constantly strive to build, advance, and improve. We know – deep down – that change is good.
Make that your mantra, marketers. Because you’re in the troughs of change. Artificial intelligence is here, and evading this change is akin to shutting down shop.
It’s time to power through the fear and uncertainty and embrace AI.
